The BfG (Federal Institute of Hydrology) is looking for a research assistant in ecotoxicology. The position is a part of the EU research project ‘Labplas’. Tasks include a detailed conception and implementation of the monitoring of the quantitative and qualitative occurrence of micro- and macroplastics in water, suspended sediment and biota in the Elbe federal waterway. Additionally, scientific studies to clarify the toxicological potential of micro- and macroplastics on aquatic organisms of different trophic levels is also to be undertaken.

The candidate should hold a diploma or masters degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Ecotoxicology or a comparable field of study. Linguistic proficiency in German is a must. The work can also be undertaken remotely. This is a part-time position for a period of 2 years.

Preparation for a PhD is also possible while working as a research assistant.
