The agrichemical company Syngenta is hiring an ecotoxicologist in its Canadian location. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
Tasks related to the position include (but is not limited to):-
- Supporting the development and registration of new active ingredients / products for Canada as part of North American Environmental Safety.
- Utilizing ecotoxicity and exposure data to inform ecological risk assessments including assessments for species at risk.
- Collaborating with other regional / global Product Safety experts, Regulatory, Stewardship and Business personnel.
Prospective applicants should hold a Ph.D. in an environmental or biological science (Botany, Entomology, Zoology, Ecology, Toxicology) or Master’s degree with 5 years of professional experience. Knowledge of environmental / ecological risk assessment processes and concepts, especially those relevant to Canadian regulations (such as those under Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA), Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO)) is desired.
