INRAE lab in France is accepting applications for the position of a postdoc in DNA metabarcoding (diatom biomonitoring).

The candidate will be engaged in the framework of the “Aquaref Diatom” project, funded by Aquaref (National reference lab for aquatic ecosystems monitoring). This project is carried out by the UMR Carrtel INRAE (Thonon France) and UR EABX (Cestas France). The aim is to provide an evaluation of the ecological quality of rivers in France based on diatom DNA metabarcoding similar to the one obtained in microscopy.

The person will be responsible of these tasks:-
1. Follow up of a national sampling campaign.

2. Improving of comparability between assessment results obtain with metabarcoding and microscopy.

3. Experience feedback: DNA conservation, ring-test: a technical note will written for laboratories wishing to apply the DNA-diatom methodology.
