PhD position in Aquatic Ecology and Ecotoxicology at University of Valencia

The Cavanilles Institute of Biodiversity of Evolutionary Ecology at the University of Valencia (Spain) is offering a PhD position to study the resilience of aquatic populations and communities to chemical and environmental stressors in Mediterranean coastal wetlands.

The PhD project aims to develop tools for assessing the combined effects of chemical pollution and global climate change on plankton and macroinvertebrate populations and communities. Furthermore, organisms’ resilience to multiple stressors and their impact on ecosystem stability properties and ecosystem functional endpoints will also be studied.

The PhD position targets highly motivated students with experience in Aquatic Ecology, Ecotoxicology and Data Modelling.

The project will be embedded in the ERAHUMED project and supervised by Dr. Andreu Rico.
