The Institute for Biochemistry and Biology at the University of Potsdam is looking for a research assistant in R and Shiny app programming as a part of outreach activities.
The position is a part of the working group ‘Ecology and Macroecology’ in the Institue of Biochemistry and Biology. The group uses different modelling techniques to predict species range shifting potential under global change and to assess adequacy of different conservation management strategies.
The task of the research assistant is to implement an R Shiny app for simulating population dynamics that will be used for outreach activities. Hence, strong programming skills are a prerequisite. Knowledge related to Git and other programming languages are appreciated.
The workload is 10 – 19 hours per week upto a minimum period of 6 months.
