In this post, Erin Bennett, the Editor-in-Chief of the Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, informs about the journal’s anniversary and recent publications by Landau’s researchers.
I must confess this is the first blog that I have ever written. After discussions with a group from Landau, I was excited to hear how many people are part of this blog and how effective it is as a communication tool for fellow researchers, especially graduate students. Okay, I am revealing my age a wee bit, as I am a little behind in some of the modern communication tools.
To introduce myself – I am the Editor-in-Chief of the journal entitled: Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology (BECT). My goal is to post monthly tidbits about what is being published and to highlight any upcoming journal news.
On that note, I am very excited to announce that 2016 is the 50th Anniversary of BECT. This is a highly important milestone for BECT, placing it as one of the early environmental journals of this particular genre. Thus, it is very important that this anniversary is made relevant and celebrated by the scientific community.
I would like to formally invite you to be part of this celebration by contributing to BECT in 2016. If you would like to submit an editorial or a paper that highlights the history of BECT and its role in environmental research, please feel free to contact me. Ideally all submissions should be submitted no later than June 2016.
On another note, I would like to thank the research group from the University of Koblenz-Landau, Landau Campus, Ecotoxicology and Environment Research Group for their recent contributions to BECT. Please check out their recent publications:

Stay tuned for my next blog!
