Pesticides on the peaks: Alpine study made the Top 25 of 2024 in Communications Earth & Environment.

The Top 25 papers collection of 2024 highlights the most successful papers published by Communications Earth & Environment in that year. Featuring authors from around the world, these papers highlight valuable research from an international community.

We are very happy that our paper “Widespread contamination of soils and vegetation with current use pesticide residues along altitudinal gradients in a European Alpine valley” was placed in the selection of the  TOP 25 papers published in Communications Earth & Environment last year.

The paper received 25,063 article downloads in 2024 and was mentioned in 49 news stories, 4 blogs and 2 Facebook posts, and pointed out in 68 X posts by users with over 2 Mio followers. The journal published over 745 papers in 2024, so a position in the most successful of these is an extraordinary achievement and shows that our science is of real value to the research community.

All co-authors are very happy to receive this award, and we are – again! – thankful to all students of the Master Environmental Pollution Management – Ecotoxicology course who participated in the sampling and climbed all the mountains.
