In the Department of Evolutionary Ecology and Environmental Toxicology at the Institute for Ecology, Evolution and Diversity in the Department of Life Sciences at the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, a position as Research Assistant is available.
The position is a part of the BMBF-funded LURCH joint project gwTriade: “Ecological and ecotoxicological groundwater quality monitoring based on an integrative triad approach” .
Areas of responsibility include:-
- Scientific collaboration in the coordination of the cooperation project.
- Experimental work on the effect-based assessment of groundwater and the synthesis of the findings of the overall project.
- Statistical evaluations of large data sets.
- Writing publications and reports in the project.
- Supervision of final theses in the project.
Required qualifications include:-
- Completed university degree (master’s or diploma) and a doctorate in the field of biology, preferably with a focus on ecotoxicology, as well as relevant publications and participation in interdisciplinary projects.
- Knowledge in the area of ecotoxicological, effect-based methods and (if possible) in the area of cell cultures/eDNA metabarcoding.
- Knowledge of groundwater assessment is desired.
- Knowledge of using statistical software (GraphPad, ToxRat, R) and Microsoft Office.
- Good knowledge of English in word and writing.
- Class B driving license for upcoming sampling.
- Ability to work in a team, flexibility and an organized way of working.
