We are launching a new series to highlight the variety of student research and experiences in the field of ecotoxicology around the world. Students will have the chance to share their stories in an interview-style blog with our community.
Have you ever wondered what students in ecotoxicology are doing in other parts of the world, or even in your own university? Lots of exciting research is conducted by students worldwide, and we want to hear about it and share it with all of you!
Our goal is to give students the opportunity to showcase their experiences in the field of ecotoxicology in bite-sized stories. This is your chance to practice science outreach, and make new connections with other students and researchers.
How can you participate?
If you are interested, send an email to msc-ecotox@uni-landau.de with your name, affiliation, and a brief explanation on how your studies relate to ecotoxicology. We will get back in touch with you.
How will the interview work?
We will send you a set of interview questions. You can answer the questions on your own time. Each question should be answered in a brief paragraph (max. 100 words per question). We will also kindly ask you to provide us with two pictures of you; these can be a portrait, while doing research, at a conference, or similar.
Here are some examples of what we may ask you:
- Why did you choose to join the field of ecotoxicology?
- What research questions is your thesis addressing?
- What was your most memorable conference experience and why?
What else do you need to know?
We encourage you to write in plain, non-scientific language. Keep in mind: Your audience includes non-specialists.
The EcotoxBlog team will edit your answers for language, clarity, and brevity. We reserve the right to decline your application to participate in the blog series.
