The University of Québec and INRS-Eau Terre Environnement jointly offer a PostDoc and a PhD position in freshwater ecology based in Montréal.
The PostDoc position focuses on aquatic ecosystem services, in particular freshwater biodiversity and the resilience of ecosystem service provision for north temperate lakes. One research topic will be to create and evaluate participatory scenarios aimed at enabling the maintenance of biodiversity and ecosystem services under different climate change, human population, societal and socio-economic trajectories.
The PhD position focuses on aquatic ecology, likewise aiming at relating freshwater biodiversity to the resilience of ecosystem service provision in north temperate lakes. The research will include work with existing databases, e.g. remote sensing data, but also collection of new phytoplankton and zooplankton data from 30 lakes in the Montréal region.
Both positions are part of an international collaboration between Canada, Sweden and Germany. For more details, and to apply, please contact Dr. Beatrix Beisner (beisner.beatrix@uqam.ca) of the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Québec.
