The Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) is accepting applications for the position of an environmental scientist for a project related to identification and prevention of pesticide inputs into water bodies.
The Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) has gained an excellent reputation as an international competence centre for environmental science.
The position, which is a part of the Department of System Ecotoxicology, involves the evaluation and development of exposure and effect models on the basis of existing data on the pollution status, geography and biological communities in the water bodies. The candidate has to provide scientific assistance of the development of a GIS software for the assessment and reduction of pesticides in the environment, which is being developed by a cooperation partner as part of the project.
Required qualifications include:-
- Background in Environmental Science or related disciplines.
- Strong interest in applied, ecological research.
- Motivation to work independently and develop own ideas.
- Knowledge of working with databases, GIS, R and statistical approaches
