The Institute of Environmental Sciences Landau of the RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau is looking for a dedicated researcher (m/f/d) in the field of chemical analysis of pesticides and the ecology of insects to start 1. August 2025 (limited until 31. July 2028).

The position is part of an interdisciplinary research project, funded by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation in Germany, investigating both chemical and ecological aspects in the context of pesticide impacts on insect populations. Your area of responsibility
- Carrying out and evaluating chemical analyses of pesticides in environmental samples (e.g. soil, water, insects).
- Investigation of the ecological effects of pesticides on insect populations.
- Development and application of multivariate statistical methods to analyse large data sets.
- Presentation of research results in internal and external forums, including collaboration with other research institutions and stakeholders.
- Support in the organization of workshops and seminars.
Your profile
- Completed studies (Master’s degree or comparable, except for a Bachelor’s degree) in chemistry, biology, environmental sciences or a related field.
- Sound knowledge of chemical analysis, especially in the field of pesticides.
- Experience in entomology and the study of insect ecology is an advantage.
- Confident handling of large data sets and experience in multivariate statistical methods.
- Very good written and spoken English.
- Independent and structured way of working, high organizational skills and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team and interdisciplinary cooperation, also with partners outside the academic world
