ToxStrategies has an open position as early career ecotoxicologist, to contribute to cutting-edge environmental health and risk assessment projects while building expertise in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ecotoxicology Assessments: Conduct and support ecotoxicological evaluations to assess the impact of chemicals on ecosystems, wildlife, and non-target organisms in various environments (e.g., aquatic, terrestrial).
  • Environmental Risk Assessment: Assist in evaluating risks posed by chemical exposure to ecological receptors, including aquatic organisms, terrestrial animals, plants, and soil microorganisms.
  • Data Analysis and Modeling: Analyze ecotoxicology data, using statistical methods, modeling, and software tools to assess and predict environmental risk. Experience with statistical approaches and modeling tools is preferred (e.g., R, Excel, or other data analysis software).
  • Technical Writing and Reporting: Prepare clear, concise technical reports, research papers, and other deliverables summarizing findings for clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborative Research: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including toxicologists, engineers, environmental scientists, and regulatory specialists, to integrate ecological and toxicological data into broader risk assessments.
  • Regulatory Support: Provide scientific support for clients navigating regulatory frameworks and risk assessment processes related to chemical exposures, environmental safety, and ecological impacts.
  • Continuous Learning and Community Engagement: Engage in the scientific community by attending conferences (e.g., SETAC, SOT, ISES) and publishing research. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on advances in ecotoxicology and environmental science.

Essential Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Ecotoxicology, Environmental Science, Toxicology, Environmental Chemistry, or a related field (e.g., Environmental Engineering, Biology).
