The International Office and IPAS (Integrative Project for International Students) are looking for students who would like to support newly arriving international students at the beginning of the winter semester.
In October we are looking forward to welcoming many new international students from all around the world – exchange students but also new master’s students in Ecotoxicology and Environmental Sciences. Since the start in a foreign country with a foreign language and culture can be challenging, we are looking for students who would like to accompany and help the freshmen during their first days in Landau – from picking them up at Landau train station to support with administrative steps.
Since the Welcome Days of the International Office will take place at the very beginning of October, the precondition for becoming a student tutor would be availability and presence in Landau from 30th September until 16th October.
And don’t worry, the International Office will support and accompany both, new international students and student tutors. For prospective tutors there will be a training session:
When? on Thursday 16th July 2015; from 6pm to 8pm
Where? on campus, CIV (yellow area), room 60 (ground floor)
If you would like to help the new students and join us as a student tutor, please send an email to Mrs Bohn, International Office, (bohn@uni-koblenz-landau.de) and let her know that you would like to participate in the training session.
If you would like to become a tutor but don’t have time on Thursday 16th for the training session, please contact Mrs Bohn, too.
Your benefit?
Taking part in the training session together with a successful tutoring will lead to a certificate issued by the International Office which shows your intercultural engagement (an asset to every CV!).
This certificate will enable international students to apply for a STIBET-scholarship 2016 in the category of “international engagement”.
