Eawag is pleased to invite applications for a 2-Year Postdoctoral Fellowship in the field of aquatic science and technology
About EAWAG
Eawag, the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology, is an internationally networked aquatic research institute within the ETH Domain (Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology). They conduct research, education and expert consulting to achieve the dual goals of meeting direct human needs for water and maintaining the function and integrity of aquatic ecosystems.
Eawag provides a unique research environment to address critical water-related challenges. Our interdisciplinary setting brings together a range of academic disciplines, from natural sciences to engineering and social sciences. The postdoctoral fellow will be hosted within one of Eawag’s 12 Research Departments
Selection for this position is based on academic achievements as well as the quality and originality of the proposed research at Eawag
Eligibility
- This fellowship is for candidates who have not previously collaborated with Eawag and who completed their doctoral degree within the two years prior to the application deadline.
- Candidates expecting to complete their PhD by the end of 2025 are also eligible to apply, provided their degree is conferred before the fellowship begins.
Applicants should submit the following materials:
- A brief cover letter. The letter should also indicate the most suitable Eawag research department to host the project.
- An abstract of up to 250 words, written for a general audience.
- A CV including a list of publications.
- A detailed description of the proposed research project to be conducted at Eawag (maximum 3 pages, including references).
- Contact information for three academic references.

The deadline for applications is 11 May 2025. The decision will be made by the end of June, with an expected start date in Winter 2025/26 or earlier.
